CLASS DESCRIPTION

Basics  
Tango Fundamentals: Posture, connection, walking, the embrace and introduction to partnering skills, musicality and basic figures such as caminata, cruzada, contrapaso, corridas, ochos & molinete (walk, cross, parallel and cross-systems, double time runs, figure eights and turns).

Advanced Beginners           
Creating a good dance: partnering skills, musicality & improvisation, Focus on smooth transitions among walks, ochos, gyros and other basic figures.  Introduction to Close Embrace.  Pre-requisite: 2 or more Basic series or equivalent.

Intermediate
Session A Topic:  Specialty Ochos & Boleos
The many variations of ochos include ochos on the spot and traveling ochos (regular and overturned) along with infinite possibilities in dynamic variation.  We'll explore how to dance a spectrum of ochos and boleos in both open and close embrace, and how to make them feel novel(!) within a social dance.  Pre-requisite: 2 or more Advanced Beginners series of equivalent.  Close embrace experience recommended.

Intermediate / Advanced
Session A Topic: Advanced Musicality: Contrapiano & Challenging Syncopations
Contrapiano is an unusual rhythm that involves stepping on both downbeats and upbeats.  Explore these and challenging rhythmic figures in tango, milonga & vals.  Pre-requisite: Close Embrace & 2 Intermediate Series  (may be taken concurrently).

If registering at first class, please come 10 minutes early.

SERIES
One Series   $75,     Two Series   $140    
(Full-time Students: $55, $100 respectively).

Please note:  Make-ups are available within the same session only.
(Attend a similar or more basic level class).
Registration fees are non-refundable.
Blue Tango reserves the right to cancel undersubscribed classes.

To protect floors, please bring clean non-street shoes (suede or leather bottom) or socks to class.

Private Lessions
Private lessons are invaluable for improving one's dance because of their specificity and time efficiency.  Contact Hsueh-tze to schedule.  Cancellation policy: 24-hour notice is required to avoid penalty (except for medical emergencies).
